The person behind BIBIVOX!

Meet Hilana

Hi, I’m Hilana, a neurodivergent and multilingual clinician, committed to social justice and equity. I have a background in linguistics, interpreting and translation, opera, public service, and teaching languages. I grew up in Morocco before moving to the UK then happily settling in Australia. My spoken languages are English, French and Arabic, and whilst I practise in English, I can support French and Arabic speakers.

As a speech pathologist, I have practised across diverse settings, including hospitals, community health, the disability sector, private practice, clinic management, and academia at Western Sydney University, where I supported the next generation of speech pathologists.

My career highlights so far have included presenting to families and to colleagues, partnering with caregivers to recognise and build on their child’s strengths, helping my gender diverse clients find their affirming voice, and so many more.

I’m a big believer that therapy thrives on connection and laughter is a key part of that. I often tell families that if they or their children aren’t laughing in our sessions, then I’m not doing my job properly.

Beyond the clinic, I love learning new music, going for runs, planning a hike, or experimenting with new food recipes.

…And the rest

of the ‘team’

These three are often close by, helping create a joyful, friendly environment, and sometimes stealing the spotlight.
