Are you a professional voice user? Is your voice an integral part of what you do? If so, then you are an occupational voice user and your voice is your instrument. Learn evidence-based techniques to use your voice efficiently, prevent injury, and maintain vocal health throughout your career. I offer specialised voice therapy for:
Teachers managing vocal strain, load, and fatigue
Singers and actors seeking sustainable vocal technique
Professional voice users (coaches, presenters, sales professionals)
Adults with voice disorders, hoarseness, or vocal nodules

If you experience voice problems without structural abnormalities of the vocal folds, you may have a functional voice disorder. These conditions can involve excessive or inefficient muscle tension during voice production, leading to vocal difficulties. Voice therapy is the primary evidence-based treatment for functional voice disorders. Most patients experience significant improvement in voice quality, reduced effort when speaking, and decreased throat discomfort. Treatment is personalised to address the underlying causes of your voice problems, which may include vocal habits, stress, or compensatory behaviours.
I provide evidence-based treatment for:Functional Neurological Voice Disorder (FNVD) - a volitional loss of voice or a condition where a person’s voice is affected causing symptoms like loss of voice or changes in voice quality. This type of disorder is classified under functional neurological disorders, meaning the problem arises from disrupted brain signalling rather than physical or biochemical damage.
Muscle Tension Dysphonia (MTD) – excessive tension in the laryngeal and surrounding muscles
Vocal strain and effortful speaking
Voice that fatigues easily or becomes hoarse with use
Throat tightness or discomfort when speaking
Changes in voice quality without identifiable structural cause
